HELIOS Physiotherapy and Rehab has kept high standards and frequent cleaning of the clinic. Due to Coronavirus pandemic, we have added additional sterilization process in the clinic, using Health Canada approved disinfectant. We have implemented patient and therapist screening. We have below procedures in place.

  • Bring or wear, loose-fitting comfortable clothing. Wear clothes that allow the therapist to see the area to be treated (e.g. shorts for leg/thigh injuries).

Your session will be unique because it is all about you and your needs.

  • Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time in order to complete the required clinic documents to receive care. This helps you, as well as the other clients, to receive the best care possible in a timely manner.
  • Bring any relevant reports/test results if you have any (e.g. X-rays, ultrasound scan, MRI reports)
  • Bring information on your Extended Health Insurance, WSIB claim or Motor Vehicle Accident Insurance if applicable
  • The practitioner will learn about your medical history
  • The practitioner will physically examine your body and diagnoses your condition
  • Practitioner will discuss your goals and explain the recommended treatment plan
  • You will also have the benefit of getting treatment during your first visit.

The first visit will last up to 45 minutes.

We perform various types of treatments and will customize a program combining the Best Techniques specific for your injury. The modalities and techniques we use include Manual Therapy, Soft tissue release, Joint mobilization, Electrical stimulation, Shockwave Therapy, Acupuncture, Stretching, Therapeutic exercises, Heat, Vestibular Therapy, Concussion Therapy, Pelvic Therapy etc. The treatment program will be performed in a private treatment room.

Important tips:

  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to you scheduled appointment to check in and complete the forms.
  • Bring all necessary insurance verification, physicians’ prescription, list of medications, radiographs (MRI’s, X-rays), etc.
  • Bring or wear comfortable, loose-fitting comfortable clothing
  • Physiotherapists are primary care providers, so you do not need a doctor’s referral to see us. You may want to inquire about your extended health insurance if your plan needs a doctor’s referral.
Patient Wellness is Our First Concern. We understand payment is always a concern, and often a challenge. Most Health Insurance companies reimburse all or portion of the fees. Your treatments may be partially or fully covered, if you have extended health coverage, worker’s compensation claim, of Motor Vehicle Injury. If you are planning to use extended health insurance to help cover the cost of physiotherapy, please remember to visit your insurance company’s website to ensure the coverage.
