What Does It Involve?

Massage, in general, is a healing treatment that involves working with the soft tissues of the body with an aim to ease muscle tension and promote relaxation. The practice of using manual pressure to ease pain and promote relaxation is probably the oldest form of healing therapy in medical history. It is the manipulation of soft tissue to decrease hypertonicity or muscle tension.
The treatment also:

  • Improves local blood circulation
  • Decreases scar tissue and adhesions
  • Improves flexibility
  • Decrease Stress Levels: Massage helps a lot in decreasing stress levels and promoting a feeling of well-being. By using various massage techniques, it helps to increase blood circulation and reduce muscle tension. Thus, it calms the nerves and provides you the feeling of relaxation and happiness. It also triggers the body to release the hormones such as dopamine, endorphins, and serotonin which help in lowering emotional and physical stress.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger points can arise in muscles because of overactivity, under activity or muscle imbalance. The presence of these trigger points in the muscles is the primary cause of lower back pain. For the treatment of lower back pain, the Massage therapists work on the trigger points found in muscles like Quadratus Lumborum, Trapezius, Rhomboids, Multifidi, Psoas Major, Gluteal muscles, etc. to relieve pain and bring health back into these muscles.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage targets superficial and deep layers of the muscles and the connective tissues to ease pain and restore movement. For chronic lower back pain, this type of treatment has proven to be one of the most effective massage techniques.
